The Irish Piano Pedagogy Conference (IPPC) is a new national gathering for everyone involved in piano teaching across Ireland. Our aim is simple: to bring together piano teachers of all backgrounds – independent, school-based, community, and higher-education – to learn, share, and connect.
By strengthening the community of piano teachers in Ireland, we can gain greater respect and recognition from society at large, highlighting the essential role we play in nurturing creativity, discipline and lifelong engagement with music.
Across two days of lectures, workshops and discussions, the IPPC provides a space to exchange ideas, refresh your teaching practice, and celebrate the incredible work piano teachers do every day.
Whether you’re new to teaching or have been in the profession for decades, the conference is designed to inspire and include you. Together, we can strengthen the piano teaching community in Ireland and shape its future with creativity, collaboration, and confidence.
The Irish Piano Pedagogy Conference exists to:
To build a thriving, connected community of piano educators across Ireland – one that shares knowledge openly, values professional learning and celebrates the artistry of teaching.
Nicola Cantan is the director of Colourful Keys Piano Studio, vibrantmusicteaching.com and vividpractice.com. She is spearheading the creation of this event and her company, Vibrant Music, is the lead sponsor for the conference.
Most teachers want their lessons to be fun and creative but they have trouble finding the time to lesson plan and the confidence to try new things. At Vibrant Music Teaching, we take away the confusion and make it easy to teach music theory through improvisation and games.
